About The Artist
Hi, I’m Marina Valiyev, the artist behind The Art Treat. Based in Texas, I have a formal education in traditional realistic art, my journey began at university, where I developed a passion for fine arts. Over the last 15 years, I primarily worked as a digital artist, but after the COVID pandemic and balancing full-time graphic design with raising my children, I felt the need for a change. The constant screen time had taken its toll, and I found myself longing for the tactile joy of hand painting.
Watercolor painting became my escape and my joy once again, offering a sense of relaxation and fulfillment that digital art couldn’t provide. There’s something uniquely satisfying about feeling the brush on paper and watching the artwork come to life.
Why Watercolor House Portraits?
What I love most about painting house portraits is the calming process. Each home has its own story, and I’m always intrigued by the history and personality of every house I paint. I think about the homeowners with every brushstroke, knowing that this piece will carry sentimental value for years to come.
To ensure each home is portrayed authentically, I focus on the little details—whether it’s the pattern of the brick, the unique shutters, or the flower beds in the yard. These elements bring each home to life and make the portrait truly personal.
Building Personal Connections
For me, the greatest satisfaction comes from knowing that my clients are happy. The idea of my artwork hanging on their walls, as a cherished memory, is why I do what I do. I listen closely to requests and feedback, making sure each client feels their home has been captured in a way that resonates with them.
Looking Ahead
As The Art Treat grows, I plan to expand beyond house portraits into commissioned paintings, including pet and people portraits. Eventually, I hope to offer original works of art as well, once my children are a little older and I have more time to devote to my craft. Contact me with all your ideas. I will be happy to paint it for you.
